The Virtual Campus project seeks to enable students, faculty, and staff at Bard College and our colleagues in other, remote locations to answer the question: How can we best use technology to overcome the obstacles of time and space, conduct an open dialogue, and draw mutual benefit from the intellectual and cultural resources we have to offer each other?
Teaching is at the heart of the project, as it is at the heart of what we do at Bard College. The first goal of the Virtual Campus project has been to create and teach several courses together with Smolny College. Smolny is a joint enterprise of Bard College and St. Petersburg State University and is Russia's first liberal arts college.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation has provided a grant for the development of the Virtual Campus.
